Nike and Salazar settle $20m lawsuit alleging abuse of US track prodigy
Nike and Alberto Salazar have settled a $20m lawsuit with former athlete Mary Cain over allegations of emotional and physical abuse.
The terms of the settlement have not been released but are believed to be in the range of millions of dollars.
Cain, who filed her lawsuit in 2021, accused Salazar of pressuring her to lose weight, publicly shaming her for not hitting weight, and wanting to give her birth control pills and diuretics to lose weight. [ more ]
